Devant le jukebox

In-house production

Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario is a francophone theatre production company. All of our productions are presented in French, however, some shows feature English Surtitles™ so that more people can experience French theatre! We apologize, but not all content on this site is available in English.

Description

Key words: love, sketches, live music, dance, local creation, nostalgia
We love this show for: its unifying and festive side, its “pep”, its lightness and its humour.

This year, eight Sudbury authors have drawn inspiration from your favourite love songs to create TNO’s annual community show. A mysterious jukebox comes to life, and one romantic memory follows another in an unusual evening that combines humour, tenderness, theatre, music and… a few dance steps! Devant le jukebox, is the story of an evening or the story of a lifetime. It’s passionate or broken. It’s ardent or platonic. Filial or toxic. It’s love. With a capital A or a small one.

Directed by Hélène Dallaire, come and discover the eclectic and engaging universe imagined by Isaac Adams, Maxime A Cayouette, Antoine Côté Legault, Stéphan Lapensée, Chloé Laduchesse, Daniel Robillard, Alex Tétreault and Chloé Thériault. Janie Pinard is joining us as assistant director and choreographer.

Location: La Grande Salle, Place des Arts du Grand Sudbury
Duration: 1h20 without intermission
Spokespeople: Joanne Vincent and Jean Lalonde

A Production by

Are you ready to dance for TNO?

As part of its 2024-2025 community show, TNO is inviting public figures from Sudbury to take part in the “Are you ready to dance for TNO?” campaign. 8 courageous star dancers will take the stage in Devant le jukebox, directed by Hélène Dallaire. Under the choreography of the talented Janie Pinard, who is also codirector, our guest dancers will bring out their most electric dance steps to impress the audience… and support community projects of TNO!

The general public is invited to support the guest dansers’ participation by making a donation. The goal? Raise $1,500 in donations for each of our 4 dance groups! How to make a donation? Online, by clicking on the links below the dancers’ biographies, or by dropping a cheque at our Place des Arts offices. Tax receipts will be issued for donations of $20 or more.

Laughter and fun guaranteed!
