Shack à patates : A Travelling Chip Stand for the Soul
In-house production
Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario is a francophone theatre production company. All of our productions are presented in French, however, some shows feature English Surtitles™ so that more people can experience French theatre! We apologize, but not all content on this site is available in English.
Description
All performances are free. Access to the area will be on a first come, first served basis. Space will be limited to ensure both adequate physical distance between audience members and the best experience for all. Additional health measures will be in place to ensure the safety of all.
This multidisciplinary travelling theatre, coproduced with La Slague in collaboration with the Salon du livre du Grand Sudbury, assembles a group of local artists, actors, clowns, poets, puppeteers, and musicians, who will don their aprons to pay homage to the Northern Ontario summer staple: the chip stand. Over the course of two weeks, the general public is invited to bring their blankets and camping chairs and stuff their faces with comforting, whimsical artistic performances.

General Provisions
- Upon arrival, trained Carrefour francophone and TNO employees will direct the audience members to the designated reception area. An employee will conduct a safe and respectful health check survey* (See health screening procedures section). Audience members will then be directed to a designated area, where they will remain for the entire show.

- All audience members must have a non-surgical mask with them upon entering the performance site. Disposable non-surgical masks will be available for those who do not have one.
- A hand-sanitizing station will also be available at reception.
- Audience members must remain at least two metres away from anyone who is not part of their social bubble. To enforce that, the space designated for the audience will be divided with markings on the ground so that there will always be at least two metres between individuals or few people from the same group. The performance area will be at least three metres from the audience area. All singing performances will take place behind a plexiglass barrier, integrated to the set of the show.
